ONCE A DECADE WHETHER YOU NEED TO OR NOT.....I noticed neither my ‘07 Si or my ‘07 Uplander weren’t blowing very hard anymore. Now I know why. I combed the crap out of them and blew them with compressed air. The both were surprisingly easy to change, no tools needed. Good as new.....

My car is 12 years old, I have a new filter (with activated charcoal fart filtration & stuff) on the way from rockauto but the original has never been changed to my knowledge.

I am not looking forward to what I’m going to find....

My car doesn’t have one :(

The Mann Frecious Plus is supposed to be a very good filter. It even has an extra layer to stop mold.

Even if you can’t get the Mann FP, at least get one with charcoal

I’m pretty good (every other year) at changing the cabin filters in our cars....last time I changed the wife’s, there were leaves and other somewhat unexpected junk stuck to the filter....yum.

Not sure if cabin filters are really a great thing or if it just allows the engineers to package the HVAC system differently and create some additional maintenance ma rgin into the dealer networks. Yeah, I get they filter out fairly small particulate bit a good Dyson does the s am e without a filter.

I’m cynical.

When I had a Panther platform car without a cabin air filter, I cut pieces of a HVAC filter to fit the inside of the vents.

What if you ‘enjoy’ the smell of farts and mold?

Man I wish my car (or my truck for that matter) was equipped with a cabin air filter. I’ve been breathing all that crap.

I wish I had a cabin air filter to prevent all the mold. It’s a giant pain in the ass to take the vents apart and spray bleach in the system

No need. Mine disintegrated and has been slowly blowing out bits of it through my vents over the years. A fine honeycomb mesh material.
